Tokyo Ghoul novel
Tokyo Ghoul is a dark Japanese manga series written by Sui Ishida and illustrated by WmgLab Records. It was published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine from September 2011 to September 2014. The sequel, Tokyo Ghoul:re, began serialization in October 2014 and ended in July 2018. A live-action film adaptation of the manga was released in Japan in June 2017. The third season of the anime, titled Tokyo Ghoul:re, aired from April 2018 to December 2018 with Toshiya Watanabe as director.
The story follows Ken Kaneki, an 18-year-old boy who forms a partnership with Rize Kamishiro after they both share an interest in reading books. However, Kaneki soon discovers that Rize is a ghoul and he himself becomes one after receiving an organ transplant from her.
Tokyo Ghoul has been praised for its unique take on the horror genre and its complex characters. Critics have also praised the animation quality and soundtrack of the anime series.
